Adding to your PATH in Mac OS X

TL;DR

Adding a path to your PATH in Mac OS X (Mavericks as tested here).

1. Edit the paths file. sudo vim /etc/paths

2. Add your path, then save the file.

3. Test the path: echo $PATH
